Fond Farewells

Fond Farewells is a small group exhibition presenting 2D and 3D artwork by local artists on the theme of letting go, even when you don’t want to, in the wake of the Gravesend-Tilbury ferry’s cancellation in March 2024.

This exhibition has been curated by local artist, Callisto Searle. Callisto is a local performance & installation artist who works closely with local residents, artists and crafters in her practice. She will be exhibiting around the final sailing of the Gravesend-Tilbury ferry in 2024, a service recorded as far back as the 14th century, which in March 2024 saw its first cessation in living history. This exhibition includes photos and video of a performance piece by Callisto, alongside the photos, videos and paintings made by locals commemorating this final sailing.
